Dakota Part One: Hard?

One of the more bizarre finds of my last vintage porn adventures was this cody of Hard?-- a magazine from the late sixties or very early seventies (it's not dated). Its thinly veiled premise is that it's actually an essay about pornography rather than a porn mag (illustrations are needed to prove the thesis, naturally). The accompanying essay is difficult to get through, but it could conceivably be a scholarly work. Kinda.

I had seen the coverboys in a spread before and been quite impressed by the big blonde one (Dakota). I decided to do a lil research on him, and found a lot more than I ever would have imagined....

I included the whole mag in this post for its historical value, despite the relative dearth of Dakota pics. (To be continued...)

David Dude

One of the most awesome things about the internet age is the fact that someone, somewhere has usually built a shrine to whatever you can think of. This fine gentleman was nearly unknown to me until I published his Torso cover. Not only was he identified by a reader, the porn angel who helped me out also shared his impressive David Dude archive. Who knew?

The model's porn name was "David Dude". He modeled for the now-defunct Sunblazer Studios in 1982-1983 (Tex Murdock also modeled for them around the same time after he left Fox Studios). After the success of his Torso cover, he also did one porn video in 1984 called "Centerfold Spread" for a company called Shotgun. (It was only available on VHS, never released on dvd). It was advertised heavily in Torso but the company never took off. Sunblazer Studios went out of business but was relaunched under the names Hunk Studios and Cordean Studios in the late 80s-early 90s but folded once again around 1993. This guy has been my all-time favorite model ever since. I always wondered why he's never received much attention on the internet before. Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one to remember him
